Date: 10 January 2002

At two o'clock this afternoon, I was all set for a meeting between myself and the designers ( whose identity I can not reveal ) of the new pedal car for the Barlestone Guiding Team.

I was instructed to wait at the side of the alleyway, next to one of the local shops. I had been waiting for nearly 10 minutes and was getting ready to walk away when an unfamiliar car pulled up, the doors opened and I was bundled into the back seat. The two men in the car blindfolded me and we drove off at speed.

After what seemed like ages the car stopped, the doors opened and I was bundled into a building. One of the men removed my blindfold, and after a few moments, when my eyes had adjusted to the light, I looked around and saw that I was in some sort of workshop. I could see the new chassis that had been built along with a number of component parts. The design was clearly very different from Flocky, and in fact is unlike anything I had seen before. The two men were by this time in deep conversation with the three men in the workshop. I overheard talk about things that I did not understand such as gear ratios and universal joints. I did understand when they talked about the prototype assembly taking place in three weeks time.

Whilst I was un-supervised, I managed to sneak a few photographs of the chassis and some of the components and have uploaded them to this website. Just in time, I managed to sneak the camera back into my bag, as the men returned and replaced the blindfold. I was then bundled back into the car and wisked away. Hopefully I will be able to get some clearer ideas of what the final design will be like over the next couple of weeks. If I do, you will read it here first.
